Denby Pottery, a world-renowned pottery manufacturer best known for its internationally renowned stoneware products, appointed Power-Zero to maximise energy efficiency, reduce running costs and to further improve sustainability at the main factory in Derbyshire.

Businesses everywhere are feeling the pain of power price rises. A large energy user faced with rapidly escalating costs, Denby required a long-term solution which would also enable the business to continue to improve its environmental performance and protect customers from price increases resulting from higher operational costs.
Solution
Power-Zero Delivered a new solar pv solution that will maximise savings
Over a 12-month period, Power-Zero worked with Denby Pottery to understand the site’s data and power requirements and identify the right long-term solution.
Handling everything from design to ecological survey requirements, planning applications and installation, Power-Zero delivered a new Solar PV solution that will maximise savings and help to deliver Denby’s sustainability agenda.
Designed to match Denby Pottery’s load requirements for electricity, using a ground mounted array of DMEGC Solar 550w modules, situated on land surrounding the site.

The 2mw bespoke solar pv solution will be monitored by power-zero energy’s operation and maintenance team.

Their onsite generation solution will ensure denby are around for another 200 years.

Result
Fully-funded through Power-Zero’s Dynamic Power-Purchase Agreement (DPPA) , the new Solar PV solution guarantees savings on Denby Pottery’s electricity bills and forms a key element of the company’s net zero and sustainability strategy.
Sustainable energy savings
The solution has helped Denby Pottery reduce CO2 emissions by 475 tonnes pa and will save the business millions in energy cots in the years ahead by generating its own power rather than relying solely on the National Grid, so that it can continue to offer its fantastic products at competitive prices.
