As Commercial Director Simon is responsible for all commercial matters at Power-Zero with a key focus on growing the Optimise platform to help customers get to net zero through energy monitoring and efficiency. He will also be spearheading the growth of the flexibility side of the business and bringing new and innovative solutions for customers to the market.
Simon has worked in the energy industry for 20 years with extensive experience with large energy consultancies and various roles with one of the largest energy suppliers in the UK.
Simon has also held numerous roles with responsibility for commercial management of distribution connected assets, managing the entry of a distribution connected portfolio of assets into the UK Capacity Market and building Demand Side Response and Energy Storage Solutions for B2B customers.
1/7- Sophie leads the Power-Zero solar design and development process, overseeing a team of Solar Project Engineers and Designers to deliver high-quality, efficient renewable energy solutions. She works closely with installation partners and suppliers, ensuring seamless project execution and customer satisfaction.With a strong background in renewable energy and operations management, Sophie has held key roles at Engenera Renewables, Arriva Transport, and Go Northeast, bringing a wealth of industry experience to Power-Zero. Passionate about the future of clean energy, she is actively involved in both the sector and her local community, championing initiatives to encourage young women to pursue careers in the energy industry.2/7
Peter trained as an Electronics Engineer before moving into firmware and software development, building a 35-year career in monitoring and control applications. Over the years, he has worked across BMS, metering, CHP control, and district heating, delivering innovative energy management solutions.
Peter spent over a decade at ENERG, eventually becoming Group Development Manager, where he led the team responsible for technical solutions across the business. Following the sale of ENERG to Centrica, he returned to focus on BMS and metering solutions, helping businesses optimise their energy use.
At Power-Zero, Peter now leads the team behind Optimise, a powerful energy insights platform that integrates data from solar installations, metering, and BMS systems, helping customers track performance and spot potential issues.
3/7Louise Aston has been a dedicated professional in the energy sector since 2008, amassing extensive experience in metering, energy management, compliance, and project finance. In 2022, she transitioned her focus to solar energy, where she currently manages the solar financial model for Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) and supports the pre-installation process from initial lead to contract.
She has overseen AMR smart meter installations, delivered tailored energy management reporting, and achieved Certified Measurement & Verification Professional (CMVP) status. She has helped organisations comply with ESOS, CHPQA, and SECR while conducting financial modeling for gas-to-power and CHP opportunities.
Louise’s analytical expertise and hands-on experience make her an asset to Power-Zero. Her ability to bridge financial modelling with practical implementation helps businesses navigate complex energy challenges, ensuring solar investments are both commercially and operationally viable while aligning with evolving sustainability goals.
4/7Andy has over 16 years of experience in the energy sector with a strong background in energy efficiency, data analytics, and building management systems. With a career dedicated to optimising energy performance across industrial and commercial sectors, he specialises in leveraging data-driven insights to enhance sustainability strategies.
His expertise lies in integrating innovative technologies, including IoT and analytics software, to maximise efficiency and compliment renewable energy solutions such as solar PV.
Bringing a holistic approach to energy management, he focuses on optimising solar PV installations by integrating complementary technologies such as Building Energy Management and Sub-metering to improve visibility, control, and efficiency.
5/7Chloe Gelacio is a highly skilled Solar Engineer with a Renewable Energy Engineering degree and five years of industry experience. Specialising in Solar PV, she has delivered 4MW of complex solar projects, overcoming challenges like intricate roof designs, minimal operational disruption, and advanced export limitation systems.
Chloe has led both EPC and PPA projects for private enterprises and public-sector clients, ensuring compliance with rigorous industry standards. She oversees the full project lifecycle, from design and approvals to contractor management and commissioning, back by SSSTS Site Supervision and 18th Edition Electrical qualifications. Passionate about sustainability, she is on a mission to accelerate the renewable energy revolution – one solar panel at a time.
6/7George Rymer found his passion for renewables during his bachelor’s degree in Geography and Master’s degree in Ecological Consultancy. He began his career in the clean energy sector at Solarsense UK as Administrator, working his way up to Design Engineer, and subsequently Technical Assistant Project Manager.
At Power-Zero, George has achieved his 18th Edition and SSSTS qualifications and is a part of the solar team that design, survey, and deliver large-scale solar systems that produce clean electricity for a range of commercial clients.
